Group Runs

No need to RSVP to our weekly group runs — although our Facebook page is very active, in case you’d like to check in ahead of time (especially if it’s an official holiday)– just show up! We welcome runners of all abilities and experience: no need to worry about whether you’re “fast enough” or “look like a runner”. If you join us, you’re a runner. Questions? Contact the run lead or ask away on Facebook!

Pop-up Trail Fun- Run lead: Kurt Foster (kuafos@hotmail.com or 609-284-3852)

Please follow along our Facebook group page for announcements of when these events will happen. If you are not on Facebook, e-mail or text Kurt to find out. Also, feel free to create your own pop up trail run in our Facebook group. Kurt’s picks are usually Black Run Preserve or Atsion:

-at Black Run Preserve: meet in the dirt parking lot of the BRP off Kettle Run Road (near Braddock Mill Rd). 6:30 start, 4-6 miles with various options, very pretty park with chances to see wildlife! The run happens periodically when it is light out in the evenings but times may vary.

-at Atsion Lake: meet in dirt parking lot at the Atsion Ranger Station office (plug in 724 US-206, Shamong NJ 08088 in your gps/google maps). The regular route is usually a 10 miles loop, other shorter and longer options available. If you new to trail running or running in general, this is a great place to start! Flat and easy trail terrain will add a whole new angle to your running life!

September-January – Batona Trail Series – Run leads: Samantha Creamer and Christopher Lucania (batonaseries@gmail.com)

The Pineland Striders’ annual Batona Trail Series group run, a 5-leg once a month series ranging from 8 to 13 miles each. Once all legs are complete, each runner will have completed the entire 52.7 mile trail.

Finisher awards will be presented to club members who have completed all 5 legs of the series as well as “special recognition” to those who run each leg of the series out and back. Joining the “Out ‘N Backer Club” is a great accomplishment and challenge for marathoners and ultra runners who can’t get enough of the trails.
